March 23, 2020

Hello Friends, we write today with an important update for our community and supporters of the Playhouse. You probably know that the Playhouse had already temporarily postponed many spring events in the interest of the health of our patrons, colleagues, and community members, due to COVID-19. We are currently working to reschedule those same wonderful events, for dates later in the year.

The Playhouse will be following Michigan Executive Order 2020-21 issued this date by Governor Whitmer dictating that all residents Stay Home, Stay Safe until at least April 13th, effective immediately. Our staff is working from home to plan a well-deserved and hopefully, well-attended Summer Theatre Festival. While we are saddened to see a continued closing of our doors, our neighborhoods, and our state at large, we firmly believe that our incredible community will recover from this difficult time with the support of our friends and patrons.

Until then, please continue to follow us here, and on Instagram and Facebook, and feel free to reach out with any questions. Take good care of yourselves and each other, and perhaps, if your financing allows and you feel so-inclined, find a way to support a local artist or food bank. If we are unable to reschedule, ticket holders will have the option to request refunds or to request a gift card for future use. However, we graciously ask that you consider donating your ticket expense as a tax-deductible contribution. To request a refund, a gift card, or to donate the value of your ticket, please Contact Us via this website or call (231) 894•0119. We will be announcing the status of scheduled events as soon as possible. Until that time, we greatly appreciate your patience as we navigate this situation.

Remember, we are a community. Let's stay present, calm, patient and kind. We can take advantage of this time to connect with the things that we love most and find a deeper appreciation for all that we have. Michigan boasts many beautiful natural spaces, which we are fortunate enough to be able to enjoy during this time of intentional separation. When this is all over and we return to our lives, the Playhouse and our lineup of stellar performers, musicians, artists, and actors will be ready to welcome you back to your home away from home.

Thanks for your understanding, and please, take good care of yourself and your loved ones.
