Statement from Playhouse Staff on the Date Change

Hello, Friends of the Playhouse!

We write today with bittersweet news. The sweet news is that in addition to a $40,000 grant the Playhouse was awarded, we were nearly sold out for the Clean Comedy Time Showcase booked for tomorrow! The bitter news is that we have had to make the tremendously difficult choice to reschedule that same event.

Due to the skyrocketing rise in COVID-19 cases across our state, our Governor asked at a press conference today that, "Michiganders avoid dining indoors and avoid gathering with friends indoors for two weeks." Our performers and our staff wish above all else to keep our patrons, volunteers and staff safe as our first priority, while hosting a great evening coming in as a close second. We collectively feel that rescheduling is in the best interest of both of those aims.

As we wish to remain safely open and continue to entertain you in the months ahead, we and our friends at the Clean Comedy Time team have come to the joint decision to reschedule tomorrow’s event for the next available booking, on Friday, June 11 at 7:30 pm. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we truly hope that you can join us then.

The good news is—if you’re free that night, you don’t need to do anything! Your tickets have been automatically transferred to June 11, and we look forward to seeing you in early June.
