SantaLand Diaries by David Sedaris presented by Andrew Zahrt Warning: The essay contains Adult Content; this show is recommended for Mature Audiences. Andrew Zahrt, recent staffer at the Howmet Playhouse, will present the essay SantaLand Diaries as a one-man holiday show. NPR humorist and best-selling author David Sedaris made his comic debut reading his SantaLand Diaries on National Public Radio's Morning Edition. Sedaris' sardonic humor and incisive social critique have since made him one of NPR's most popular and humorous commentators. This story follows Sedaris as he works the Christmas season in New York City’s Macy’s as an (adult) elf at SantaLand. Original artwork in the form of “Jessica’s Culinary Calendar 2009” will be on sale at the performance with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the calendars going to fund the Playhouse. This calendar was created by local artist and culinary creator, Jessica Cirner, and consists of her collection of original recipes and photographs of her unique foods. Makes a great Christmas gift! Come enjoy this hilarious story, meet an elf, and help to support our local community’s theater! This is a benefit performance with all proceeds going to support the Playhouse. |
