Summer Theatre Festival 2025 Auditions

Auditions will be held for Bon Appetit! Plus A Delicious Cabaret, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Noises Off!


 

Bon Appetit! Plus A Delicious Cabaret

Bon AppetitThe Playhouse is hosting auditions for the 2025 production of Julia Child's Bon Appetit! Plus a Delicious Cabaret. The role of Julia Child has been cast.

  • Performances are July 11, 12, and 13
  • Showtimes are at 7:30 PM on Friday and Saturday as well as at 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday
  • Tech Week
    • Load in is on Monday and the first tech rehearsal will be on Tuesday
    • NO ABSENCES PERMITTED DURING TECH WEEK
  • Casting 
    • will include 4-6 adult performers to sing cabaret songs, at least two high voices, two low voices, SATB
    • Also, some adults cast in the Cabaret may also be assigned a non-speaking role in Bon Appetit
    • Youth Choir will be students ages 10-16.
  • Audition Dates
    • Please arrive by the start of auditions and plan to stay until dismissed.
    • Monday, May 19 from 6:00 to 9:00pm
    • Tuesday, May 20 from 6:00 to 9:00pm
  • What to Prepare
    • 32 count of a Broadway song. Something that shows off your vocal style, adults and kids. Please bring your sheet music or a track to follow. Wear comfortable clothes to move in.
    • Youth Performers who don’t want to sing, but would like to be in the show can bring in a poem ornursery rhyme to recite.
  • Video Auditions Will Be Accepted
    • due by Sunday, May 18 by 5:00 PM. Prepare 32 counts of a Broadway show that shows off your vocal style. We’d like to see some movement in the video audition as well.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamcoatThe White Lake Dramatic Club is hosting auditions for the 2025 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

  • Performances are July 25, 26, and 27; and August 1, 2, 3.
  • Showtimes are at 7:30 PM on Friday and Saturday as well as at 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Audition Dates
    • Please arrive by the start of auditions and plan to stay until dismissed
    • April 22: 6:00 to 9:00 PM
    • April 23: 6:00 to 9:00 PM
  • Planned Rehearsal Schedule
    • Monday-Thursday, beginning June 9 though July 17 from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM
    • Children's Chorus will meet on Mondays from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM until closer to the show week

    • Characters
      • NARRATOR An actress with a strong rock singing voice (high best to E full range Mezzo) who is strong on comedy and moves well. Tenor vocalist if played by a male performer.
      • JOSEPH Tenor. The eleventh son of Jacob. Obviously his father's favourite, Joseph early on shows a talent for interpreting dreams and telling the future. This gets him into trouble with his brothers when he predicts his future will include ruling over the other eleven. However, it saves his life when in Egypt he correctly interprets Pharaoh's dreams. In the end he has risen to a great position of power, but he still forgives his brothers and brings his family to Egypt to partake of the bounty he has accumulated there.
      • JACOB JOSEPH’s father. An actor in his 50’s/60’s with a baritone voice.
      • JOSEPH'S BROTHERS – Eleven brothers with strong singing voices, the ability to dance, and contrasting body types and ethnicities. Requires featured solo brothers for Country and Western style in "One More Angel in Heaven," Jacques Brel/Maurice Chevalier style for "Canaan Days," two brothers to double the BUTLER and BAKER, and a strong dancer with partnering ability (Adagio) in "The Apache."

    • BUTLER Tenor/Baritone, played by a brother. Character role with a look that contrasts with the BAKER.
    • BAKER Tenor/Baritone, played by a brother. Character role with a look that contrasts with the BUTLER.
    • PHAROAH Good actor/singer with Tenor/Baritone range.  Elvis Presley impersonator type who moves well.
    • ENSEMBLE
      • Chorus * – Sopranos (to High C), Mixed male ranges (Low A to High A, Basses down to E). Minimum of 11 girls to play the wives of JOSEPH'S BROTHERS, including a strong female dancer with partnering ability (Adagio) in "The Apache."
      • Youth Choir will be students ages 8-16.
