Classes for various age groups

If you have a creative child on your hands then this class is for you!

Students will not learn a choreographed dance from the teacher, but rather, they will tap into their independent expression to co-create dances with classmates. Taught by a professional in the field, students will learn choreographic techniques to guide and hone their artistry.

This series is part of Dance PlayHouse’s initiative to amplify young voices in West Michigan through the arts. When asked why this program is important for the local community, Kelsey Lee, founder and current executive director of Dance PlayHouse, says, “So often, kids are told what to do and when to do it. Motion Makers is an opportunity for children to gain new tools to express themselves, which supports their mental health by empowering them to share their ideas and celebrate their individual identities. Having recently relocated our organization to Muskegon from Grand Haven, this series continues our educational offerings in the area.”
