The 2013 Theatre Festival Staff
KATIE TRZASKA (Managing Director) has managed the Playhouse since November 2010, but she first joined the Playhouse family as the stage manager for The Woman in Black in July 2009. Katie holds a B.A. in political science, communications, and theater studies from St. Norbert College in Green Bay, WI, and has been performing and producing theater for over 13 years. When not at the Playhouse, Katie enjoys traveling across the country, assistant directing the Musical Theatre Program at Western Michigan Christian HS, and spending time with her wonderful family, friends, and terrific boyfriend Zach. She would like to thank everyone who helps keep the Playhouse alive and well—the community support is what keeps this Grand Old Lady shining!
JASON BERTOIA (Property Master) returns to the Howmet Playhouse as property master and set dresser this season. Jason has been the Musical Theatre Program Director at Western Michigan Christian for the past five years directing Curtains, Carousel, Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes, and Seussical. Jason was the Assistant Director for the private production Full Mouse, Empty Mouse: The Musical in partnership with The Lakeshore Eating Disorders Coalition and has also been involved in Muskegon Civic Theatre starring as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, and most recently as Charlie Cowell in The Music Man. His properties credits include: Side by Side by Sondheim, Something’s Afoot, Doubt, Dial 'M' for Murder (Muskegon Civic Theatre) and last season's productions at The Howmet Playhouse . When not spending time in theaters he works as a Community Health Worker for the Michigan Pathways to Better Health Project - Every Woman's Place.
GREGORY BREDESTEGE (Technical Director) graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2010 with a BFA in Theatre Technical and Design where he was Technical Director on shows such as Titanic: The Musical and Cats, and Lighting Designer on The Colored Museum. He then went on to work as the Assistant Technician and Master Electrician at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, working on shows such as The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, and The Grapes of Wrath, along with many of Shakespeare's classics. The past two summers, Gregory has worked as the Master Carpenter for one of the two shops at Stagedoor Manor, building up to 21 shows in 9 weeks. He is looking forward to his time at the Howmet Playhouse to meet new challenges and friends.
TRAVIS EMERY (Youth Theatre Intructor) is thrilled to be joining Howmet Playhouse for the summer to perform in Harvey and work with White Lake Youth Theatre students! A current member of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s resident ensemble, past credits include Bright Star Touring Theatre, The Kennedy Center, Austin Shakespeare Festival, and Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, among others. On Camera: Latino Comedy Project (TX), Dog Day Films (OH), CreationFilms (KY), and ABCFamily’s The Lying Game. Favorite roles include Puck in Midsummer, Lane in The Importance of Being Earnest, and Septimus in Arcadia. Travis holds a B.F.A in Acting from Texas State University.
NIKKI FOSTER (Costume Designer) has designed for many shows including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The 39 Steps, Bye Bye Birdie, and Annie. She worked as the assistant for many productions at Muskegon Community College including The Laramie Project, The Pillowman, Into the Woods, The Importance of Being Ernest, and It’s a Wonderful Life. This fall she will be leaving to attend DePaul University to obtain her BFA in Costume Design. She would like to thank Katie Trzaska for the opportunity to work this season and everyone who has helped her get where she is today.
GATES GREEN (Box Office Manager) is a recent graduate of Reeths-Puffer High School where he participated in the theatrical and musical productions that opened his heart to the fine arts. This summer he will be managing the box office at the Playhouse and couldn't be happier to be part of the Playhouse staff. He was involved in the White Lake Youth Theatre Education Program and is glad to give back to the historic theatre. Gates plans to attend Muskegon Community College this fall.
COLETTE KUFAHL (Graphic Designer), owner of CMYK Grafix Design and an Associate with Rafaill & Associates, LLC, is an experienced graphic designer whose objective is to convey her clients’ unique places in our lives and in our community by developing designs for print and online marketing. Her skills continue to be put to good use for the Playhouse as she designs a variety of items including the summer programs, flyers, posters, and many of the graphic elements used on the Howmet Playhouse website. Colette embraces the opportunity to help preserve and promote our communities' fine arts and the Historic Howmet Playhouse.
LORRELL PEPPLE (Production Manager) is a 2005 graduate of Shelby High School. She majored in Theater at Muskegon Community College. She has had the great privilege to work with several local theater companies, including the Howmet Playhouse, Muskegon Civic Theater, MCT Tours, and Central Park Players. This is her first year as Production Manager for the Howmet's summer season, and, while nervous, she couldn't be more excited! Lorrell would like to thank Katie for this amazing opportunity, her mother, Sharon, for her constant love and support, and JaiLynn for always keeping her ego in check.

WILLIAM S. RAFAILL (Webmaster) has been the webmaster for the Howmet Playhouse since the spring of 2007. He and his wife, Barbara, have a cottage in Stony Lake and have been enjoying the western shore of Michigan and all that it offers, including the Playhouse, since the mid 1980s. Bill is CEO, CFO, COO, and all those other "O's" for his own company, Rafaill & Associates, LLC. He specializes in website development, graphic design, and technology training. He is pleased to do all that he can to promote the Grand Old Lady, the Howmet Playhouse.
